Freezer Meal Frenzie

I love freezer meals!! A couple hours of cooking, one mess and I end up with four meals for my family. Today I would like to share with you my favourite sloppy joe freezer meal. I found it on Our Best Bites but took out some of the water because I liked the consistency without. Here is a link to the original recipe http://www.ourbestbites.com/2009/10/dressed-up-sloppy-joes/
It is delish!!

Okay, gather your ingredients. Here is what you will need:

1 lb. lean ground beef (If you have a large amount of meat to cook, put it in a roaster and cook it at 350 degrees in your oven until it is done)
Seasoning salt to taste
1 medium onion, minced ( I like to mince my onions, peppers and garlic in the food processor)
1/2 green pepper, minced
3-4 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
3/4 c. ketchup
1 tsp. mustard
3 Tbsp. + 1 tsp. brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp.vinegar
3/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
3 Tbsp. tomato paste
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
6 hamburger buns

I 4x this recipe so I would have one meal to eat that night and 3 to put in the freezer

Instructions:

Brown ground beef with onion, green pepper, and garlic. Season to taste with seasoning salt. Add in mustard, ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce. Combine tomato paste to hamburger mixture. Add water if desired. Season with freshly ground black pepper to taste.

Get three freezer containers that are labeled and whatever you are going to cook your meal in for that evening. Fill each bag with an equal amount of the sloppy joe mixture.
Now you can cover, turn heat to low, and simmer your sloppy joe meal for the evening for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve on hamburger buns. Or you can stick it in the crockpot on low for 3-4 hours.

On the day you are going to use one of your freezer meals, defrost it overnight in your fridge. I usually throw it in the crockpot or you could warm it up on the stove top.
Your life is now going to be easier!! Can't you wait to have your freezer meal and not have to prepare much??  Yummy!!!

My Favourite People

Kwynn, Ella, Corbin and Evan are my favourite people.  Kwynn is such a little lady.  She is growing up so fast.  Ella is my social butterfly.  She loves pre-school and having play dates with her friends.  Corbin is my little monster.  He gets into everything, climbs on everything and likes to bug his sister's.  Evan is the love of my life.  I love him more and more everyday.  I have a family here on earth.  They are so good to me.  I want to share my life with them through all eternity.  Families can be together forever, through Heavenly Father's plan.  I always want to be with my own family and the Lord has shown me how I can.

Spring is in the air!!

The sun is shining and the snow is melting.  This winter has been long, cold and has had a lot of snow.  I can't wait for everything to dry up so we can go outside and play!!  My kids have been asking when we can get the swimming pool out!! I love the smell of rain, the new buds on the trees, green grass, fresh smells and easter.  I can't wait till Easter.  My kids are excited for the Easter bunny to come.  Easter to me is more than the Easter bunny.  Easter is when I have the chance to remember my Saviour Jesus Christ.  He suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane for me.  He died on the cross for me.  He was resurrected.  I know he loves me.  I know he lives.  Happy Easter everyone.

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

I love Christmas!!  I love the smells of Christmas.  I love the sights of Christmas.  I love Christmas movies.  I love the food at Christmas.  I love the meaning of Christmas.  I love the traditions of Christmas.  I even love the snow at Christmas.
Our family has been in the Christmas mood lately.  We started out by decorating our home.  Then the kids wrote their letters to Santa.  Now the kids are all into watching Christmas movies (I watch them too).  Their favourite one right now is Santa Buddies.  It is such a cute movie.
I can't wait till Christmas.  25 more days!!

Blindback movie night

The other night we had a movie night.  I made treats and we pigged out.  I got a recipe from a friend the other day and had to try it.  It is the most amazing popcorn I have ever had.  Here is the recipe, you have to try it (even my picky kids liked it):
Cinnamon Popcorn
16 cups of popped popcorn
1cup of butter
2/3 cup of sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon

*Place popcorn in a large bowl.  Place butter, sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and microwave.  Stir.  Pour over popcorn and toss to coat.  Transfer to two cookie sheets and bake at 300 for 10 min.
